Hi all! Today's post will be a product recommendation/review on Revlon Super Lustrous Lipcolor. I'm really picky about lipstick and everything about it (more on that later) but I ended up picking up two shades from this line from Revlon. I have heard so many people in the beauty world rave about how great Revlon lip products were. Until recently, I never really paid much attention to them. I'm so glad I did though!
Good things to note!
- No scent
- No taste
- Moisturizing (Huge plus for me because I have really dry lips!)
- Good pigmentation ("Pearl" formula you will have to build up but I don't mind)
- Affordable & Easy to find (Price ranges but is typically $5-7)
- Wide range of shades (Revlon offers so many different shades in this line. I just prefer lighter shades. But if you like pink, plum, brown, red lips...there are a ton of choices for you!)
- Here's a tip if you don't have a tester (sometimes Ulta offers testers) hold the tube up to the brightest light you have in the store. If you know what undertones work for you, it will be easier to pick a shade. For example, I saw a lighter shade but saw that it leaned orange/peach...not for me!
Sparkling Cider #634
I'm constantly on the hunt for the "perfect nude" lipstick and I think I finally found it. It's so hard to find a nude lipstick is flattering, wearable and not drying. Usually nude lipsticks turn orange-ish on my lips or have that "concealer lips" look. Also, since I self tan my skintone changes often. Naturally I am very fair but like to sport a tan. Because of that some nudes look great when i'm fair but too light when i'm tan, and vice versa. However, the shade Sparkling Cider #634 works on both my light and tan skin! This might sound silly but it is really crazy how hard it is to find something that works for me! The photo of Sparking Cider (top left photo, second lipstick) might look dark and almost mauve toned, but it really isn't. On my lips though it comes off as a beige nude that doesn't lean too warm or cool rather it sits in between. It is the perfect wearable nude lipstick that I have found in the drugstore (Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brulee is good too! More about that in another post). I highly recommend this shade if you want to try nude lips but don't want to look like you have concealer all over your lips! I would say this is a "grown up nude lip".

Sky Line Pink #025
This is another nude shade that is the pink family (top left photo, first lipstick). This is a lot lighter than the other lipsticks in this line. This shade is very pearly and a tad metallic. This is a shade that I prefer to pair with a lipgloss. It looks fantastic paired with Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Peach Petal (ha another Revlon product!). This shade works well with a smoky eye (it gives the look a nice balance) or you can easily wear it on its own if you just want a a little color. You will need to build this color up to get it to show up (the swatch below is after rubbing the shade many times on my hand) but it's worth it. The reason you have to do this is of course because it's a really light shade. This wouldn't be an issue with the darker shades in the line.

Revlon lip products have quickly become one of my favorite lines. They really do offer such a wide range of colors, finishes and products. I'm a huge fan that these particular lipsticks do not have a taste or scent (such a turn off!) and they are so creamy (my lips are always dry especially with winter coming up!) If you are in the market for a nude lipstick or lipstick in general, give Revlon Super Lustrous Lipcolor a try. I'm a happy camper!
